Delhi News: Pro-Khalistan slogans were seen on the walls of the Delhi Metro stations in Karol Bagh and Jhandewala on Sunday, May 12. Pro-Khalistan slogans have previously been daubed on the walls of metro stations in Delhi.
Discovery of Pro-Khalistan Graffiti and Anti-Modi Slogans
Today, pro-Khalistan graffiti and anti-PM Modi slogans were discovered scrawled on the pillars of the Jhandewalan and Karol Bagh metro stations. Police requested CCTV footage from the affected metro stations and filed a formal complaint in the case. Supporters of the terrorist group Sikhs For Justice (SFJ), who have previously admitted responsibility for similar incidents, are said to have painted the slogans. SFJ is a banned outfit.
Prior to this, in August of last year, Preetpal, a member of the Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) terrorist group, was taken into custody by the Delhi Police special cell. On August 27, he is said to have spray-painted pro-Khalistani phrases and graffiti at Delhi Metro stations. Preetpal was captured in the early hours of August 31, 2023, from Punjab.
Why it is a matter of concern
The Election Commission has released the schedule for the next general elections, which will take place in several states in phases. Notably, voting for the seven seats in the capital city of Delhi, which includes Chandni Chowk, North East Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North West Delhi, West Delhi, and South Delhi, will take place in a single phase on May 25. Now all this happening before the elections in the country's capital is a matter of concern.
