Delhi old liquor policy

This time Diwali was celebrated with great pomp across the country. For the last two years, people were imprisoned in their homes due to the Corona epidemic. In such a situation, this year's Diwali was special. In the weekend before Diwali, liquor worth more than one crore was sold in Delhi. Officials said that about 48 lakh liquor bottles were sold on the weekend before Diwali. There was no sale of liquor in Delhi on the day of Diwali. Because of this, there was a lot of crowd at the liquor shops before Diwali.

Diwali was celebrated on 24 October (Monday). An official of the Excise Department said that between Friday and Sunday before Diwali, liquor worth more than 100 crores was sold. That is, 48 lakh liquor bottles were sold in three days.

According to the information received, a total of Rs 30 lakh liquor was sold on Friday. On the other hand, liquor worth Rs 32 lakh was sold on Saturday. Liquor was sold at a record level on Sunday, a day before Diwali. Liquor worth Rs 42 lakh was sold a day before Diwali.

The liquor business in Delhi has been badly hit with the ongoing CBI probe into the Arvind Kejriwal government's liquor policy and the alleged "scam" in its implementation. Kejriwal has withdrawn the Excise Policy 2021-22. In such a situation, selling liquor worth 100 crores within three days is a matter of happiness for this region.
