Delhi police have been strict with ‘No Mask’ law

More than 3,000 challans were issued for not wearing mask, spitting in public and not maintaining social distancing according to Delhi police data.

“In Delhi, a large number of people are wearing masks but still some are not wearing them. A fine of Rs 2,000 will be imposed on anyone who is found not wearing a mask at a public place. Till now it was Rs 500. If you wear a mask, there are fewer chances of people contracting COVID-19. I appeal to all religious, social organisations and political parties to distribute masks,” Kejriwal said.

Meanwhile there were cases where police beaten up the public for not wearing mask, Delhi police have been strict in this entire row of no mask fine event in the National capital.

“It is legally not feasible to change the amount of a fine in the absence of a proper government order or notification,” said a district official.
