Delhi has logged in the highest daily increase in cases of the coronavirus disease on Monday in more than three months. The state reported 1,904 new infections in the last 24 hours, according to the health department’s bulletin.
It was on December 12 last year that Delhi’s covid-19 daily toll went above the 1,900-mark when 1,935 people had tested positive for Covid-19. The Capital also saw six more fatalities on Monday, which have taken its death toll 11,012, while its caseload stood at 659,619, the bulletin stated
The number of recoveries in Delhi climbed to 640,575 with 1,411 more people being cur3ed from the virus on Monday. As of now, the active cases in the state are above 8,000.
Meanwhile, 68,805 tests were conducted on Monday of which 52,490 are RT-PCR/CBNAAT/TrueNat while the remaining 16,315 are rapid antigen tests, the bulletin added. It also also stated that 4,639 patients continue to remain under home isolation adding that the containment zones in the state are 1,850.
