Delhi Winter: Coldest day of the season was recorded on Sunday

Winter has started showing its effect in Delhi. The coldest day of the season was recorded on Sunday. The lowest temperature of the season was recorded in Delhi on Sunday. In the morning, the mercury was recorded at 6.4 degrees Celsius, being 2 degrees below normal. Meteorologists have predicted the mercury to fall further in the coming days.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says that the maximum temperature in the capital was 23.9 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius above the season average temperature. Air pollution in Delhi still remains in the poor category.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of similar cold weather on Monday. On Monday, the sky will be partly cloudy and there may be light fog. The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 24 and 8 degree Celsius respectively.

According to the IMD, the relative humidity level till 5.30 pm on Sunday is 58 per cent.

Delhi minimum temperature on Saturday was recorded at 8.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal. While the maximum temperature was recorded at 23.7 degrees Celsius, which was 1 degree above normal.

At the same time, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi stood at 264 at 7 pm, which shows the poor situation. In Haryana’s Faridabad, the AQI was 203 and Gurugram 213. Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh recorded 284 and Noida 218, which also comes in the poor category of air quality.

According to the standards, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered better. An AQI between 51 and 100 is satisfactory. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered moderate and 201 and 300 poor, 301 and 400 very poor, and an AQI between 401 and 500 is considered severe.
