Digvijaya Singh Takes Aim at Scindia, Says ‘Got aviation ministry without an airport or plane’

Digvijaya Singh

Digvijaya Singh: Jyotiraditya Scindia, a Union Minister, was insulted by Congress Rajya Sabha member Digvijaya Singh on Thursday by claiming that Scindia was granted the aviation ministry despite neither having a jet nor an airport. Prior to the MP Assembly elections at the end of the year, Singh further stated that he would oppose any potential move by Scindia to rejoin the Congress.

Scindia’s U-Turn on Congress Leaves Questions Lingering

‘Scindia had complimented the party just a week before he left the Congress (early 2020) while delivering loan waiver certificates to farmers in Karera in Shivpurit when the Kamal Nath administration was in power,’ Singh added. ‘So why did he quit serving in the Congress? What did he acquire? a ministry devoid of a runway and aircraft. Khud unhonne apne pair pe kulhari mara hai.. I would now oppose his attempt to re-join the Congress,’ Singh told reporters in the Ashok Nagar district. After the Congress won the 2018 Assembly elections, Singh suggested that Scindia might have been disappointed that he was not named the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh. Singh asserted that he would never be treated with the respect he received from the Congress leadership. Shivraj Singh Chouhan was reinstated as the state’s chief executive after the Kamal Nath administration was overthrown in March 2020 as a result of Scindia-aligned MLAs defecting and joining the BJP.

Singh Highlights Kamal Nath’s Majority and Scindia’s Exit

‘A chief minister is picked by the people. Out of the 114 members of Congress at the time, he had just 17 MLAs. Later, he was related to five MLAs. This demonstrates Kamal Nath’s obvious majority (among MLAs) and demonstrates that he was unable to be disregarded,’ Singh added. ‘Kamal Nath, as CM, carried out Scindia’s campaign promises. The Nath administration donated the entire parcel of land to the Scindia School for Rs. 1. The Bharatiya Janata Party government was unable to accomplish this,’ he claimed. According to Singh, ‘Scindia should have held off before joining the BJP, which elevated him to the position of Minister of Civil Aviation and a Rajya Sabha member after he lost the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Guna on a Congress ticket. Out of reverence, we (Congress) used to refer to him as maharaj. He is known only as “bhai saab” in the BJP.’
