An organization of Muslims has appealed to the Qazis not to conduct nikah if a DJ or band plays at a Muslim’s wedding. This organization named Muslim Mahasabha said that Muslim religious leaders are also requested to inspire people to marry with simplicity. The organization says that band-baja and DJ in weddings are wasteful and Muslim society should avoid all these things.
‘Qazi take information before marriage’
Imran Khan, the national president of the Muslim Mahasabha, on Wednesday issued a written statement appealing to the Qazis not to conduct Nikah at weddings where DJs are playing. He said that the Qazi should refrain from conducting Nikah even in such marriages where processions are being taken out with bands. Imran Khan said in his statement that before Nikah, the Qazi must ensure that neither the bride nor the bridegroom should play DJ and band-baja.
‘Written guarantee should be taken from Muslim families’
Khan said that at the same time a written guarantee should be taken from the families of both the bride and groom that they will not promote DJ culture in future and will also stop their relatives from showing off. Seeking cooperation from Ulama and other Muslim religious leaders in this work, he has also requested them to motivate the Muslim community to stay away from DJs and band-music and marry with simplicity. He said that the Muslim Mahasabha would continue to oppose extravagance in marriages.
