Doordarshan’s Logo Shift Sparks Political Turmoil, Madhya Pradesh CM Defends Saffron Switch

Doordarshan Logo Saffron

Doordarshan Logo Saffron: The iconic Doordarshan logo is changing, according to a statement released by Prasar Bharati, the government-owned broadcaster in India. The red logo has been replaced with a saffron one. The official X account of DD News disseminated the announcement. The post read, “While our values remain the same, we are now available in a new avatar.”

Congress Allegations

Manish Tewari, a Congress politician and the former Information and Broadcasting Minister from 2012 to 2014, asserted that the government was attempting to take control of government agencies by changing the color of the logo. The CEO of Prasar Bharati, Gaurav Dwivedi, however, disregarded all of these remarks.

“The colour is orange. Six to seven months ago, we revamped the DD India [English news channel] logo to the same colour ahead of the G20. Thus, two news channels from the same group now follow the same visual aesthetic,” he said.

Condemnation of Opposition

On the colour of Doordarshan’s logo changed from red to saffron, Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav says “There is shame, laughter and anger at Congress and the leftist thinking. Now Congress has objection to saffron color. What does Congress want? The leftist and opposition parties do not understand that saffron is a symbol of our sacrifice. If there is such opposition to the saffron color, then they should remove it from their flags as well…I hope that Congress will apologize to the people of Doordarshan for the words they have used…”
