Seven leading hospitals within a 50 km radius have been formally recognised to attend to any medical requirements arising from incidents at the new aviation hub in Jewar.
Hospitals Ready for 24/7 Emergency Response
The YEIDA is leading this strategic initiative to develop the airport and its associated infrastructure. The other hospitals to which these patients have been referred are AIIMS Jhajjar,Safdarjung Hospital, RML Hospital, Kailash Hospital, Sharda Hospital, Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida, and the district hospital of Gautam Budh Nagar. He also stated that letters have been issued to these hospitals regarding the availability and preparedness of their staff to handle cases related to the airport. The majority of the hospitals have already responded in the affirmative, saying, "We are fully equipped with ambulance, ICU beds, and emergency medical staff."
Dr. Ajay Agarwal, director of Kailash Hospital, said, "We have a 325-bed hospital in Greater Noida which has state-of-the-art trauma care and 24/7 ICU back-up. "We are well-prepared for aviation-related emergencies. This move will help reduce emergency response time and coordination of the sector in the area," he said.
The upcoming Noida airport will also include an emergency medical centre with paramedical staff, equipment, and ambulances. This configuration enables the immediate stabilization of patients and staff before transportation to a hospital if hospital care is required.
YEIDA is coordinating with the Uttar Pradesh health department to ensure proper alignment at all hospitals. This network of cooperation will not only support aviation accidents but also bring relief to the civilian population by increasing access to emergency medical care locally.
A Comprehensive Emergency Response Plan
A special emergency medical response plan has been prepared in anticipation of the impending command over regional and international aviation counter operations at Noida Airport. Seven leading hospitals within a 50 km radius of Noida Airport enable the efficient and professional management of Noida Airport emergencies, ensuring compliance with global aviation standards. This is an example of a more comprehensive approach to passenger safety and infrastructure readiness.
