Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) members encountering challenges with withdrawal claims face rejection, typically stemming from discrepancies in database information. To prevent such rejections, individuals must take proactive measures and verify essential details on the EPFO's Member Sewa portal before initiating a claim. Akhil Chandna, Partner at Grant Thornton Bharat, advises members to confirm the accuracy and update the following information in EPFO records:
- Past Employment Details: Include joining and exit dates, employer details, and address any service gaps.
- Universal Account Number (UAN): Ensure activation and update with current employment details.
- Bank Account Details: Verify account number and IFSC to prevent rejection due to incorrect bank details.
- ID & Address Proofs: Confirm details align with EPFO records, covering name, date of birth, father's name, and gender.
Members can log in to the Member Sewa portal for a comprehensive view of their information and profile details. Immediate action to rectify any discrepancies will streamline the claim process and mitigate potential hurdles.
