Raksha Bandhan 2023: The festival of Raksha Bandhan has changed over time. It's not just about brothers and sisters giving each other gifts anymore. Now, it's also about what Generation Z likes. The usual threads and decorative rakhis have become modern with LEDs, social media symbols, and styles that brothers like. People are also talking about celebrating in an eco-friendly way during this festival.
There are different kinds of rakhis now. Some with evil eye designs start at just Rs 30 to attract young people. Older folks prefer rakhis with kundan and pearls, which can cost around Rs. 200 and more. So, Raksha Bandhan has become a mix of old traditions and new trends.
You can also find eco-friendly plantable rakhis in the market. These rakhis have seeds of plants in them that can be grown in pots. The purpose of these eco-friendly rakhis is to send a message about caring for the environment while celebrating our culture and festivals. These rakhis promote the idea of planting trees, reminding people about the importance of greenery.
There are also rakhis with social media symbols that are becoming popular. They usually start at prices of Rs. 60 and above. Additionally, there's a trend of special bangle rakhis with messages like 'Coolest Bhabhi' or 'Bhabhi Sa' for sisters-in-law. These different types of rakhis show how the festival is changing and adapting to new ideas.
This time, rakhis made from dried fruits have caught attention for their uniqueness. These rakhis are crafted using cashews, pistachios, almonds, and cardamom, shaped like flowers to add to their charm.
In addition, there are new designs of Pooja thalis available. These thalis are adorned with paintings, mirror work, and chitera art. For the younger kids, there are puppet and LED rakhis designed to be worn on their wrists. Moreover, there are special festive hampers for Rakhi that can be pre-ordered from the market. These new and creative ideas show the evolving nature of the festival.
