Farm Protest against three farm law: Protestor will fast on the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi

Protests of farmers are continuing on the borders of Delhi against the new agricultural laws. Today the agitating farmers will fast on the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi (January 30). Farmers are celebrating the death anniversary of the Father of the Nation as Sadbhavna Divas.

At the same time, the leaders of Kisan Ekta Morcha appealed to the countrymen and said that you join our fast and support us. January 30 will be celebrated as ‘Sadbhavna Divas’, all our leaders will fast from 9 am to 5 pm.

After the violence during the tractor parade in Delhi on 26 January, the agitation of the farmers started appearing weak. Many peasant organizations have distanced themselves from the movement, but after the flood of tears of farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, the peasant movement is gaining momentum once again.

Farmer leaders also targeted the ruling BJP at the Center and alleged that efforts were being made to ‘ruin’ the ‘peaceful’ movement against agricultural laws. He said, ‘The ruling BJP’s conspiracy to destroy this peasant movement has now come to the fore.’ Farmer leaders also claimed that the number of agitators in all major protest sites – Ghazipur, Singhu and Tikri – is increasing after the alleged attempt by the police to remove farmer leader Rakesh Tikait from Ghazipur border on Thursday night.

Sadbhavna Diwas will be observed across the country on 30 January and farmer leaders will observe a fast. Dr. Darshanpal, Balbir Singh Rajewal, Amarjeet Singh, Shivkumar Kakka, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Yudhbir Singh said that the center and UP government have tried to suppress the movement on Ghazipur border on Thursday night. It will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the government should desist from such action.

He said that with the strength with which Rakesh Tikait remained strong, the government has now seen the result itself and many times more farmers have reached the dharna sites. It is said that the government also tried to break the brotherhood, but the farmers of Haryana stood together more than before. Farmer leader Dr. Darshanapal said that shutting down internet, water and electricity is the result of the government’s disillusionment. If the government does not give up such action, farmers can take to the streets against it. He accused the RSS and the BJP of creating a ruckus on the Singhu border in Delhi.
