Farmers Protest: Major routes that link Delhi‘s satellite towns are congested with traffic in advance of a massive farmers’ march towards the nation’s capital. On the highways that link Delhi with Ghaziabad and Noida in Uttar Pradesh, there were lengthy lines of cars at the borders of Ghazipur and Chilla.
NH-48 Traffic Standstill
The NH-48, which links Delhi and Gurugram, is also experiencing heavy traffic, and cars are stopped before they can enter the city. In order to stop the farmers who are protesting from entering Delhi, several border crossings, including Ghazipur, Singhu, and Tikri, have been militarised.
To prevent tractors and trollies from rolling over the border points, layers of barriers and concrete blocks have been placed on roadways. On the highways, barbed wire and nails have also been affixed. Last night, the farmers and a government team held discussions, but they were unable to reach an agreement on three of their main requests, one of which was a bill that would guarantee the minimum support price (MSP).
Goods Vehicle Restriction on Greater Noida Motorway
According to Delhi Traffic Police’s most recent instructions, the Greater Noida Expressway is no longer open for goods vehicles to enter Delhi. Additionally, trucks carrying goods will not be permitted to go via Parichowk from Sirsa, Haryana, to Surajpur, Uttar Pradesh.
When travelling from the Kalindi Kunj Border to Delhi, people must use the Mahamaya Flyover. When use the Yamuna Motorway, travellers are encouraged to exit at the Jewar Toll in the direction of Khurja and utilise the Jahangirpur route.
