AMU: Four students of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been named in a First Information Report (FIR) for organizing a march in support of Palestine during the Israel-Hamas conflict. The video of the march, where students were seen chanting pro-Palestine slogans, went viral on social media, leading to the FIR. Besides the named students, the FIR also includes several unidentified individuals involved in the protest.

According to the FIR, the march took place without prior permission. The case has been registered under Sections 155A, 188, and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, citing issues related to hatred and enmity between different communities.

AMU’s administration has stated its intention to take strict action against the students and those associated with the march, following the law.

In recent developments, the Hamas terrorist group launched a surprise attack on Israel on October 7, involving unprecedented infiltrations into Israeli towns and attacks on citizens. This escalation has resulted in casualties and fatalities in both Israel and Palestine, with Israel initiating ‘Operation Iron Swords’ in retaliation. The conflict has led to over 1,100 deaths on both sides.
