A fire broke out at Kolkata's Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport on Wednesday (June 14) night. Two fire engines reached the spot after airport officials arrived to evacuate all the passengers from inside the terminal. According to officials, the fire has been brought under control.
There is a possibility of fire due to short circuit. The fire broke out at around 9.12 am, after which an atmosphere of panic was created among the passengers. Officials said that there was no information about any casualty in the incident.

Airport Authority of India said that there was a minor fire and smoke at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International (NSCBI) Airport Kolkata check-in area portal D at around 9.12 pm. It was brought under control by 9.40 pm. All passengers were safely evacuated and the process has been suspended due to the presence of smoke in the check-in area. Operations have now resumed.
The fire broke out in the 3C departure terminal building of the airport. Passengers also check in from here. According to initial information, the fire started from the conveyor belt. During this a check in counter was also burnt. Passenger movement was affected for some time at the airport, which has now become completely normal.
