Fog Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted severe to extremely dense fog conditions across areas of north-west India during the next four days, mostly in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. A layer of dense to extremely dense fog blanketed the Indo-Gagetic plains and surrounding central and eastern sections of the nation yesterday i.e. on Tuesday morning, disrupting rail and aviation travel. The same trend will continue today as well.

For the next two days, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for chilly day weather and very dense fog in 36 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Due to the cold weather, several district authorities in Uttar Pradesh have order the schools to be shut.
