Fog Update: Delhi is likely to experience a cold winter and thick fog in the coming year. The dense fog will return on Saturday evening, and there will be cold weather on Sunday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials. Between January 1 and 3, officials warned that isolated pockets of Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh may experience cold days.
IMD in a statement said, “Due to light winds and high moisture near the surface over the Indo-Gangetic plains, dense to very dense fog is very likely in many pockets over Punjab and Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.”

Delhi
In the early morning hours, the visibility is anticipated to decrease. But as dawn approaches, visibility should improve. During the thickest fog, IMD estimates a visibility of 150M. However, the new year is likely to experience even denser fog.
Lucknow
As per the latest fog update, Lucknow will see moderate to thick fog today as well. The visibility will probably be about 200 metres in the morning and get better metres during peak hours. For a few more days, this weather pattern will persist.
Amritsar
The city is expected to be covered in haze, even though the fog will be almost equal to the prior couple of days. Initially, there will only be 100 metres of visibility, but as noon approaches, this will improve.
Jaipur
Jaipur shouldn’t be shrouded in fog despite the frigid temperatures. It’ll probably continue to flow similarly for a few more days. Perhaps as a result, the city will experience a season without fog.
