Fog Update: The northwestern region of the nation is expected to see heavy fog and poor visibility for a few more days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Today and tomorrow will see dense to very dense fog across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar. A cold wave is called in the plains when the lowest temperature falls to 4 degrees Celsius or reaches 10 degrees Celsius and 4.5 notches below average.
According to the department, till the 18th, numerous areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar are anticipated to experience mild to severe cold wave conditions. Additionally, on January 17 and 18, isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and western Uttar Pradesh may experience frost.

Delhi
The coldwave will continue to attack the natives as the temperature is expected to dip below four degrees. However, IMD has predicted that visibility will be 500 metres in the early morning hours and will gradually increase upto 1000M as the day begins.
Lucknow
The start of the day in Lucknow is predicted to be moderately foggy but after that, the day will overall be sunny. During the early morning hours, the visibility will remain around 200 metres but will eventually increase upto 600 metres.

Jaipur
The city has been experiencing fog for a few days, but the tides are already changing once more. There shouldn't be any fog in the city today. However, because of how severe the coldwave is, cooler than average temperatures are expected.
Amritsar
As per the latest fog update, Amritsar will have a visibility of 500 metres during the start of the day but the visibility will then get enhanced upto 1500 metres as the noon approaches. The day is predicted to be mostly clear.
