As many as four militants affiliated with proscribed terror outfit Lashker-e-Toiba have been killed in Pulwama. Two more militants are believed to be trapped, according to sources. The operation is also currently underway.
“The operation is on,” the police said. Earlier, a police official said, “One body, apparently of a militant, is spotted near the encounter site. The operation is on as more militants are hiding in the area.”
Earlier, it was reported that an Indian Army soldier and a terrorist were killed during an encounter on Friday in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district. Joint security forces, including the personnel of the army, the Pulwama Police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), cornered the terrorists in the Hanjin Rajpora area of Pulwama, according to officials.
The encounter between the militants and security forces broke out after a tip off was given to the latter about the presence of miltiants at Hanjan village in Pulwama's Rajpora area.
