G20 Summit: Shortly after Biden’s Air Force One touched down in Delhi ahead of the weekend’s G20 Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden had a private chat at Biden’s residence in Delhi late on Friday night. Photos of the two leaders conversing on “a wide range of issues (that) will further deepen bond between India and the US” were posted by the Prime Minister’s Office.

PM Modi Acknowledges President Biden’s Commitment to Strengthening India-US Global Strategic Partnership

According to sources within the Indian government, PM Modi expressed his gratitude for President Biden’s vision and dedication to further advancing “the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is based on shared democratic values, strategic convergences, and strong people-to-people ties” during the meeting. According to the report, the leaders praised the advancements made in carrying out the recommendations during PM Modi’s trip to the US in June 2023, especially those arising from the India-US Initiative for Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET).

Biden and Modi Celebrate Growing Bilateral Cooperation Across Various Sectors

“They welcomed the sustained momentum in bilateral cooperation, including in the areas of defence, trade, investment, education, health, research, innovation, culture and people-to-people ties,” an official said.  In addition, President Biden emphasised the expanding space partnership between the two nations and thanked Prime Minister Modi and the Indian people on the accomplishment of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The leaders concurred that the relationship between India and the US benefited not just the citizens of the two nations but also the entire world. According to the sources, the PM also thanked Biden for the United States’ ongoing assistance in ensuring the success of India’s G20 Presidency.
