Ganesh Chaturthi 2022: On Wednesday, August 31, amid the Idgah ground conflict in Karnataka’s Hubballi and Chamrajpet, people from Muslim and Hindu groups gathered together to celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi in Mandya District. This happened during the ongoing Idgah ground conflict.
At Beedi Colony, members of both groups gathered to worship Lord Ganesha. Beedi colony has a Muslim majority, and both populations participated in the celebrations to demonstrate solidarity.
They also took part in the pooja and ceremonies according to Hindu traditions.
PRAMOD MUTHALIK’S VIOLATION, SUPPORTERS
Meanwhile, during the celebrations at Idgah site in Karnataka’s Hubbali, Sri Ram Sene president Pramod Muthalik and his supporters were spotted waving photos of Savarkar and Bal Gangadhar Tilak.
The municipal corporation had approved the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi at Idgah Ground. However, there were rules prohibiting the use of any provocative posters.
Despite this, Ram Sene chairman Pramod Muthalik was seen in the Ganesh Chaturthi pandal clutching a photo of Savarkar and Balagangadhar Tilak. The Karnataka High Court authorised Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Idgah ground in Karnataka’s Hubbali on Tuesday.
The Waqf Board objected to the celebration and procession of other religions on their land, prompting the ruling.
