PM Modi: On Tuesday, February 13, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan launched the RuPay card services and the Unified Payment Interface (UPI) in the United Arab Emirates. An international financial services and payment network based in India is called RuPay. UPI, or Unified Payments Interface, is an instant payment system available in India.
Bilateral Meeting Between PM Modi and President Mohammed Bin Zayed
PM Modi and President Mohammed Bin Zayed held a bilateral meeting and issued multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) prior to the launch of UPI and RuPay card services in the United Arab Emirates. The Indian delegation for the bilateral meetings included Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
Warm Welcome at the Airport
Mohammed Bin Zayed had greeted PM Modi earlier when he arrived at the airport. The two leaders gave each other hugs and handshakes. Today, PM Modi is expected to speak to the Indian community living in Abu Dhabi at the Zayed Sports City Stadium. Tomorrow, he will officially open the BAPS Hindu temple located in Abu Dhabi. The earliest Hindu temple erected in Abu Dhabi is this one.
