Goa announces Rs 2 lakh for kin of COVID victims

Goa has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each for the kin of COVID-19 victims who were either head of the family or were from poor backgrounds.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also said about another scheme, called ‘Mukhyamantri Anath Aadhar Yojana’, will be launched. Under this Yojana orphaned children will get monthly financial aid. He made this announcement while addressing on statehood day.

He further said , age limit for inmates in childcare institutions has been raised to 21, and orphans, irrespective of whether their parents succumbed to the coronavirus infection. He also adds who are in Class ten will be provided free laptops.

He also said panchayats in a financially weak position would be given a fund of Rs 50,000 to manage damages from the cyclone or the COVID-19 outbreak.
