Google CEO Sundar Pichai meets PM Modi

Google CEO Sunder Pichai met PM Modi on Monday. Pichai tweeted after the meeting that it is inspiring to see the rapid pace of technological change under your (PM Modi’s) leadership. He said that he will continue our strong partnership even further. And support the talk of open, connected internet in India’s G-20.

Digital India has accelerated the pace of progress in the country: Pichai

Pichai said that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Digital India has accelerated the pace of progress, which we are seeing across the country. The Google CEO further said that he is keen that India will share its experience with the world by taking the chairmanship of the G20 in 2023.

Google CEO says that the pace of technological change in India is extraordinary. He further said that there are many opportunities ahead. He said that he is happy to see it from close quarters and is already looking forward to his separate journey.

Sundar Pichai said in the statement that Google is supporting small businesses and startups. According to him, Google is investing in cyber security. Along with this the company is providing education and skill training. He also said that the company is also applying AI (Artificial Intelligence) in areas like agriculture and health.

Helping to advance India’s future: Pichai

The Google CEO said he has come to see the progress made by the company’s USD 10 billion 10-year India Digitization Fund (IDF) and share innovative ideas. He said that he is helping to advance the digital future of India at the Google for India event.

At the Google for India event, Google India Country Manager and VP Sanjay Gupta said that going forward, as part of our IDF investments, we will continue to support early stage companies with a special focus on women-led startups. The company announced several projects operated by Artificial Intelligence, including speech technology, voice and video search.
