On August 3, they were approved by the Rajya Sabha. The Post Office Bill, 2023 and The Chief Election Commissioner and Other Election Commissioners (Appointment, Conditions of Service and Term of Office) Bill, 2023, on the other hand, will be discussed by Rajya Sabha MPs. On August 10, these two bills were presented in the Rajya Sabha. Despite rumours that the government would introduce a "One Nation, One Election" bill, there was no mention of it on the preliminary list provided by the Centre today. There was rumour that the government would introduce a resolution to rename India as Bharat prior to the special session. A discussion on the topic of "Parliamentary Journey of 75 years starting from Samvidhan Sabha - Achievements, Experiences, Memories and Learnings" would take place in addition to the main business of the legislature, the administration has said.
Government Calls All-Party Meeting Ahead of Special Parliament Session
The day before the start of the special session of Parliament, on September 17, the government has scheduled an all-party meeting. All opposition party leaders have received invitations to the conference via email, according to Pralhad Joshi, minister of union parliamentary affairs. Pralhad Joshi declared the special session of Parliament, which would take place from September 18 to September 22. Its agenda was secret at the time, which led to rumours and condemnation from the Opposition. The move to the new Parliament building will take place on 19 September, Ganesh Chaturthi, a day that is considered lucky for beginnings.
