Happy Maha Shivratri 2023: The entire country is celebrating Maha Shivratri with great zeal and zest in order to worship Lord Shiva also known as Devon ke Dev Mahadev. This year, the festival is being celebrated on Saturday, February 18, 2023. On this day, it is believed that if people worships Lord Shiva with water and Belpatra, Lord Shiva's grace will be bestowed upon them.

Shivaratri, or the "night of Shiva," is held on the eve of the full moon in every lunisolar Hindu month. Once a year, in late winter and shortly before the start of summer, people celebrate "Maha Shivaratri," also known as "the big night of Shiva" (February or March). Moreover, it is regarded as the holy event when Lord Shiva wed Goddess Parvati. This day falls under the month of Phalguna in the Hindu calendar of North India while falling under the month of Magha in the Hindu calendar of South India.
