Haryana Violence: Bulldozer Action Takes Down 250 Shanties on CM’s order

Haryana Violence

Haryana Violence: On Saturday, government began its ‘bulldozer action,’ razing multiple companies in Tauru, approximately 20 kilometres from violence-hit Nuh. Authorities confirmed that residents of these “illegal” establishments were among those involved in the area’s rioting on July 31.

The demolition drive was ordered by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, according to Nuh’s SDM Ashwini Kumar.

“This is on the orders of the CM. All of this is illegal construction. These people were involved in the riots,” Kumar said.

On Friday, illegal encroachment by illegal immigrants was also removed from the region. Earlier afternoon, structures and shanties near Nuh’s SKM Government Medical College were razed.

The Haryana Urban Development Authority was in charge of the bulldozer action. Earlier today, the authorities razed illegal encroachments in front of the hospital on the road to Nalhar shrine.

To avoid any untoward outcomes, the demolition effort was conducted in the midst of a substantial police presence.

No official statement

The Nuh administration, however, has not released an official statement regarding the bulldozer operation. Officials present at the scene stated that the property occupied by unlawful encroachments was being cleared, and they made no connection between the demolition campaign and the previously held communal tensions in the neighbourhood.

On Friday, bulldozers were deployed in four areas across Tauru.

According to officials, approximately 40 unlawful establishments are being dismantled. This is also where vehicles were burned and stone-pelting occurred on July 31, when communal tensions erupted in Nuh and surrounding areas.

Meanwhile, curfew restrictions under Section 144 remain in effect in Nuh until today, with some exceptions for residents.
