Veteran Bollywood actor and senior politician Hema Malini on Saturday took vaccine jab. The 72-year-old actress took to her official Twitter account and shared pictures of her taking the vaccination at Cooper Hospital in Mumbai. Along with the photos, she wrote, "I have taken the Covid vaccine along with the public at Cooper Hospital."
In the pictures that the Dream Girl shared on the internet, she can be seen donned in a black printed top paired with matching face mask. She can be seen posing beside banner that reads "I got my Covid-19 vaccine. Did you?"
The actress is the latest celebrity to be administered the vaccine dose. She has joined the likes of Saif Ali Khan, Kamal Haasan and Satish Shah who have previously administered the vaccine dose.
On a related note, several politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Health Minister Harsh Vardhan have also received vaccine shots.
India began its inoculation drive on January 16. In the first phase, the country inoculated healthcare and frontline workers. The second phase of the drive had begun on March 1 which will facilitate people under 60 and those between 45 and 59 with co morbidities to receive vaccine doses.
