Himachal Pradesh Election 2022: According to sources, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of the Congress, who served as the chairman of the party's campaign committee in Himachal Pradesh, would be named the state's new chief minister. The 58-year old Sukhu is an MLA from Nadaun.
Tomorrow, he'll probably swear an oath. Rahul Gandhi is believed to be close-aide with Mr. Sukhu, a former president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress and a four-time MLA. He is known to be a grass-root leader as he emerged into the positions while starting from the ranks of Congress' student wing NSUI.

Several politicians were reported to be in the race
The six-time Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, who passed away in July of last year, and he did not get along well at work, though. Virbhadra Singh's wife Pratibha Singh and Mukesh Agnihotri, the leader of the opposition in the outgoing legislature, were previously said to be vying for the office of chief minister.
According to sources, the choice of Sukhu's name was made after discussions with Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, who spoke with Gandhi family members. Sukhu, a four-term legislator and the previous president of the Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee, is regarded as close to party leader Rahul Gandhi by party insiders.

The elections for the state took plce on 12th of Novemeber, while the results were announced on 8th of December. Congress won 40 seats in the elections out of the 68. While, BJP finished second with 25 seats and Independent candidates won three seats.
