Huge row of controversy over Rahul Gandhi's visit to Tamil Nadu on Pongal

It's a big day in Tamil Nadu as the state celebrates the mega Pongal event. This time there is something different happening in the state of Tamil Nadu on the very auspicious Pongal Day.

Congress leader Rahul and BJP chief J.P Nadda have reached the poll-bound state.
A huge row of controversy has erupted over Rahul's visit to Tamil Nadu for the Pongal festivities.

Rahul Gandhi has reached Madurai for the mega event and J.P Nadda will also mark his presence for the Pongal.

Rahul Gandhi is also set to mark his presence in the iconic Jallikatu event. Rahul would also lend his moral support to the protesting farmers against the farm laws.

The BJP has however questioned Rahul's visit to Tamil Nadu, terming it as 'double standards' as earlier Congress has opposed the Jallikattu sports.

Congress has a variety of stands for the Jallikattu event in the past. In 2016 they have included in their manifesto that they will put a halt on the Jallikattu sport, terming it as violent.

Leaders across the political spectrum extended their greeting on the occasion of Pongal but they however targeted the Southern audience. UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has also extended his greeting to Tamil Nadu on Pongal.
