Hyderabad pub: A pub in Hyderabad’s affluent Jubilee Hills in the western part of the city, is under police scanner after videos from a weekend party went viral on social media. The video shows live exotic animals being displayed at the party in the nightclub.
The police arrested seven people including the pub owners.
Reports said Xora Night Club announced a jungle-themed party for the weekend and boasted it would showcase live exotic animals.

After the party, the pub uploaded videos from the event on its social media handle and the video went viral instantly.
The short clips feature a woman dancing with a snake around her nape, a chameleon on a man’s shoulders, and a cat staring from inside its cage.
The video triggered outrage among concerned citizens. It caught attention of a Twitter user who raised the issue on the micro blogging site.
He questioned the ethics and legality of displaying live animals in such an environment. The user’s post swiftly gained traction, prompting an immediate response from Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Special Chief Secretary, Arvind Kumar.
Expressing his dismay, Arvind Kumar took to Twitter to address the matter, stating, “Taking it up with @TelanganaDGP @CVAnandIPS @TelanganaCOPs and PCCF. The audacity is shameful & shocking.”
Action against guilty
Jubilee Hills Police Inspector Rajashekhar Reddy said, “The theme party at the nightclub was organised on Sunday. We are in consultation with forest officials to ascertain whether the creatures can be used for display. Consequently, necessary action will be taken.”
Police and forest officials, on Tuesday afternoon, raided the pet store that arranged the pets for the pub in Jubilee Hills. They rescued 14 Persian cats, three Bengal cats, two iguanas, a pair of cocktools, parrots, and two sugar gliders.
The store Hyderabad Exotic Pets had allegedly arranged for the exotic animals for the party, Wild Night, at the pub.
Police have arrested seven people, including the owners of the pub and the pet store.
