'I eat beef too…it’s lifestyle in Meghalaya': State BJP chief

Ernest Mowry, Meghalaya president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), said that there is "no ban on eating beef" in Meghalaya and he too consumes beef. Speaking to ANI, Ernest Mowry said, "I cannot comment on the resolution adopted by other statesWe are in Meghalaya, everyone eats beef here, and there is no restriction. Yes, I eat beef too. There is no restriction on this. This is the lifestyle of the people here and no one can stop it.

There is no such rule in India either

The Chief Minister of Assam and the face of the BJP in the North Eastern region, Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is appealing to the people to ban beef in Hindu dominated areas.On the opposition's attacks on it and allegations of BJP being anti-Christian, the Meghalaya BJP chief said, "It is now nine years of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the country and no church has been attacked in the country. Opposition political parties allege that BJP is an anti-Christian party. We are in Meghalaya. A Christian majority state, and everyone goes to church here. Goa is also ruled by the BJP and not a single church has been targeted.

Ernest Mowry said, "It is the same with Nagaland. This is just political propaganda done by some political parties especially Congress, TMC and even some allies in the state. it is not true. I am also a Christian and they never told me not to go to church." He further said that the BJP will form the next government in MeghalayaThis time the people of Meghalaya want change. Ernest Mowry said, according to our poll, we will get the magic number in double digits and form the government. Assembly elections in Meghalaya are going to be held on February 27.
