PM Modi also stressed the importance of technology-driven initiatives, stating, “The IMD has transitioned from mere weather predictions to providing life-saving alerts. Mission Mausam will further enable us to tackle climate change and safeguard our environment.”

It will focus on real-time climate data analysis, providing better support to policymakers and industries dependent on weather insights.

The IMD, established in 1875, has grown into a globally recognized meteorological organization. With initiatives like Mission Mausam, it continues to play a pivotal role in strengthening India's climate resilience and supporting sustainable development.

PM Modi concluded his speech by encouraging young scientists and researchers to contribute to advancing India’s meteorological capabilities, ensuring a safer and more prepared nation.
