The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted that the first Cyclonic storm of 2021 named Tauktae could take place is taking shape.
According to IMD low pressure area is very likely to form over the southern Arabian Sea from May 14 that is tomorrow.
'Taukae', if it reaches the Indian coast, it will be India's first cyclonic storm of the year 2021. More than the major portions of the Arabian Sea, the coast of Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, and Maharashtra are likely to be impacted on a big margin.
“There is a lot of variation among models. Some models are showing it’s likely to cross the Oman coast, some indicate south Pakistan which would also mean parts of Gujarat will be affected,” Sunitha Devi, in charge, cyclones at India Meteorological Department, was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has urged the locals staying by the landslide-prone areas and coastal areas to take all precautions.
