Imran Khan Admires India’s Foreign Policy, Desires Cheap Russian Oil like India

Imran Khan: Imran Khan, a former prime minister of Pakistan, lauded India’s foreign policy once more, stating Islamabad “wanted to get cheap Russian crude oil just like India” but was unable to do so due to the fall of his government.

Imran Khan Stated in a video message that “We wanted to get cheap Russian crude oil just like India but that could not happen as unfortunately, my government fell due to a no-confidence motion.” Imran Khan expressed his frustration that Pakistan could not buy Russian crude oil at a reduced price amid a dire economic crisis by saying that he was disappointed. In February of last year, Imran Khan met Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

Imran Khan statement on India’s expanding economy

Imran Khan has previously acknowledged India’s expanding economy by declaring, “No other leader in the world owns assets worth billions except Nawaz. Tell me about a nation whose premier or other top official owns real estate worth billions abroad. How many properties does PM Modi own outside of India, even in our neighboring country?” Also praising PM Narendra Modi, he said, “India withstood US pressure and bought inexpensive oil from Russia to facilitate its people, despite being a member of the Quad. This was the goal that our administration was working towards through an autonomous foreign policy.”

Pakistan will get its first cargo of cheap oil from Russia

Musadik Malik, the minister of state for petroleum of Pakistan, asserted in April 2023 that Pakistan will get its first cargo of cheap oil from Russia the following month. The minister announced that the agreement with Moscow had been reached and added, “The first shipment will arrive through a cargo next month.”
