India celebrates 100 crore vaccination by illuminating monuments in tricolour

India completed 100 crore vaccination on Wednesday and to mark the achievement rchaeological Survey of India has illuminated 100 heritage monuments in the colours of the national flag.

Qutub Minar in Delhi, Golconda Fort in Hyderabad all were seen in tricolour lights on Thursday.

The Ministry of Culture in a statement said that the 100 monuments that are being lighted up in the Tricoluor including UNESCO World Heritage sites – Red Fort, Humayun’s Tomb & Qutb Minar in Delhi, Agra Fort & Fatehpur Sikri in UP, Konark Temple in Odisha, Mamallapuram Rath temples in Tamil Nadu, St Francis of Assisi Church in Goa, Konark in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar.

PM Narendra Modi also hailed the landmark that India acheieved in less than nine months since the vaccination drive was launched on January 30.

This was the tribute to all the professionals, frontline workers, scientists, vaccine manufacturers and the citizens of the country who bravely fought the pandemic, said a statement.
