New Delhi

New Delhi: The Centre has stated that China’s action will not in any way change reality, a day after it came up with a third set of names for 11 locations in Arunachal Pradesh that it referred to as “Zangnan, the southern part of Tibet.” Arunachal Pradesh is, has been, and will will be an integral and inalienable part of India, the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs declared on Twitter in response to China’s move to emphasise its claim over the region. Any attempts to give fabricated names will not change the truth of the matter.

China has already made attempts of this nature

Arindam Bagchi, the Union Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ designated spokesperson, said: “We’ve seen these reports before. China has already made attempts of this nature. This is flatly rejected by us.” Following guidelines on geographic names given by the State Council, China’s cabinet, the Ministry of Civil Affairs of China published the standardised names in Chinese, Tibetan, and Pinyin characters.
