Indian Army unveils new combat uniform at Army Day parade

The Indian Army has formally unveiled its new combat uniform on the occasion of 74th Army Day. The troopers of the Parachute Regiment donned the new camouflage during the Army Day parade in the national capital New Delhi. These paratroopers will also be wearing the new uniform during the Republic Day parade at Rajpath on January 26.

A video released by the news agency ANI features Indian Army commandoes marching at the parade ground in Delhi clothed in the new combat uniform.

The new uniform has been created in association with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) and, according to officials, will provide soldiers with more comfort, as well as uniformity in design. It has been designed keeping in mind the army’s working requirements and the need for uniformity in soldiers’ battle fatigues.

It was a team of eight made up of students and professors who were working on this project of designing the new uniform for the Indian Army. The specifications were provided by the Indian Army. The Indian Army has been planning to change the pattern as well as the material used in the uniform to make it easy and comfortable to be worn by men and women in the Army.
