On Navy Day 2025, India paid tribute to its maritime warriors, as well as their families, through powerful tributes, emotional ceremonies and an increase in appreciation for those men & women whose duty it is to protect the nation’s coastline.
In addition to other leaders from across the country, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann joined them in honouring the Indian Navy and describing the men and women of the Navy as “the steel backbone of India’s ocean strength”. His tribute to the servicemen and women of the Indian Navy included an emotional statement of support and admiration for naval officers, sailors, and those who support them.
Mann spoke of the courage, discipline and silent perseverance
The men and women of the Indian Navy often go unnoticed while serving and protecting 7,500 km of India’s coastline and ensuring that vital trade routes are safe & secure on a daily basis.
Mann acknowledged that the Indian Navy has become a professional modern multi-dimensional force and that while the Indian Navy serves to defend the seas from piracy, the Indian Navy is also involved in humanitarian missions, as well as the deterrence of future conflict. The bravery of the Navy is represented on the battlefield, also every time one of them has to get up to face the next wave of danger, the minister said.
Celebrations Across the Country
All of the naval bases from Visakhapatnam to Kochi celebrate Around Their Bases for Navy Day 2025.
The Indian Navy displayed its growing Self-Reliance through the Indigenous construction of Stealth Destroyers, Advanced Submarines, and Naval Aviation Assets.
The theme of the Special Event was the Indian Ocean Region’s (IOR) Strengthening India’s Maritime Power.
Honouring the Families Behind the Uniform
In Mann’s message, The Appreciation expressed about the Families of Naval Personnel was a significant highlight. The Families who endure the long separations, Unpredictable Duties, & Challenging Deployments.
“Every Naval Warrior is here today because someone at home holds the fort.”
