Indian Railways: Unable to get a reservation in advance or missed your scheduled train? No need to worry, anymore! Railways has announced the launch of current booking/current availability facility. This will help passengers secure reservations at the last minute, provided the train has available seats.
Under the new system, passengers can make reservations from 4 hours before the departure of a train until preparations for the final chart are made, which is generally 30 minutes before the train’s departure time.
How To Book Indian Railways Tickets?
You can book tickets via the mobile app or the IRCTC website. Alternatively, you can visit the current reservation counters at the nearest railway station.
How To Check Ticket Availability?
If the train ticket’s availability status shows “current available”, you can make the booking at no additional charges. Indian Railways will not levy tatkal charges on such bookings. This facility is available across all train classes, including sleeper and air-conditioned.
