The trade deficit decreased from US$ 31.49 billion in April to June 2022 to US$ 22.59 billion in April to June 2023, a 28.26% improvement.
According to the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, the merchandise trade deficit decreases 7.9% from April to June 2022 to reach USD 62.6 billion in 2023, a figure of USD 57.6 billion.
Exports of electronic goods increased significantly from the same period previous year, by 45.4% and 47.1%, respectively, in June 2023 and April-June 2023. Exports of iron ore increased significantly by 1664.3% in June 2023 compared to June 2022 and by 35% from April to June 2023.
Agricultural exports increased
Agricultural exports increased significantly from April to June 2022 to April to June 2023. Exports of spices increased by 18.2%, while exports of fruits and vegetables decreased by 14.1%.
When compared to the same period last year, drug and drug exports increased by 5.13 percent and 5.10 percent, respectively, in June 2023 and April to June 2023.
