IRCTC Food delivered right to seat
With just their PNR number, passengers can now place a food order on WhatsApp and have their meals delivered right to their train seat. This new addition to IRCTC's e-catering services adds to the overall customer experience, making it convenient and hassle-free for passengers to enjoy delicious food during their journey.
In a statement, Indian Railways stated, "WhatsApp communication for e-catering services implemented on selected trains and passengers. Based on customer feedback and suggestions, the company will enable the same on other trains."
The Indian Railways has made it easier for passengers to connect with its services through the launch of a Business WhatsApp number at +91-8750001323. This number provides a convenient way for passengers to provide feedback and share their ideas with the Railways.
In response to customer demand, the Railways is planning to extend WhatsApp communication to other trains in the future. The electronic catering services on some trains and among some passengers have already been using WhatsApp communication with great success. This move towards using WhatsApp as a communication tool will improve the overall customer experience and make it easier for passengers to connect with the Railways.

How to order food from IRCTC through Whatsapp?
- When purchasing a ticket, passengers will receive a message from the company's WhatsApp number inviting them to choose e-catering services by visiting the website www.ecatering.irctc.co.in.
- On the website, passengers can easily reserve meals from their preferred restaurants located along the train route.
- With the integration of WhatsApp, passengers can now enjoy a two-way conversation for all e-catering related inquiries. These inquiries will be handled by an AI-powered chatbot, providing a smooth and efficient customer experience.
In August 2022, online retailer Zoop India joined forces with Jio Haptik Technologies Limited, a provider of WhatsApp chatbot solutions, to bring food to train passengers. The IRCTC's e-catering services, accessible through both its website and app, have already delivered approximately 50,000 meals to consumers, enhancing the overall customer experience during train travel.
