Jaishankar Says ‘Aapke Muh Mein Ghee-Shakkar’ In Sweden

External Affairs Minister Jaishankar is on a three-day visit to Sweden. During this he met the expatriate Indians settled in Sweden. During a conversation with the Indian community here, he said in response to a question that ghee-shakkar aapke muh mein, after which everyone started laughing.

Jaishankar talked about the changes taking place in India and the opportunities created for Indians living abroad. When asked, will western countries start eating pani puri instead of hamburger in the era of globalization or will New Delhi be printed instead of New York on H&M T-shirts?

Jaishankar said that I do not know how many of you understand Hindi. But you know there is a word in Hindi, ‘ghee shakkar aapke muh me’. On hearing this, the people present there started clapping.

Jaishankar said that I can actually see the globalization of Indian culture. But this is happening on many factors. First it is because of the spread of the Indian community. The second reason is ourselves.

Jaishankar had come to Sweden to participate in the EU Indo Pacific Ministerial Forum. During this he met the foreign ministers of France, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania and Romania. It is known that India and Sweden are celebrating the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic relations this year.
