Jharkhand News: Jharkhand government is getting into the fast-track mode for metro rail projects in Ranchi, Dhanbad and Jamshedpur.
The Hemant Soren-led government aims to modernize the concept of urban transport infrastructure and enhance seamless connectivity for residents.
What’s Interesting About This Jharkhand News?
The state capital (Ranchi) has already received the Union Government’s in-principle approval for the Ranchi metro project. A revised comprehensive mobility plan (CMP) has been finalized. The Ranchi metro project has now progressed to the next stages, with work underway on the Detailed Project Report (DPR) and the Alternative Analysis Report (AAR).
The first corridor will cover Kachhari Gol Chakkar to Nayasarai, the second Pahartoli to Namkum and the third Kanke with Tupudana. The three routes are likely to connect a significant majority of Ranchi’s key urban areas. An estimated daily ridership of more than 70,000 passengers is expected.
Consultancy firm RITES has received letters of acceptance for the Jamshedpur and Dhanbad metro.
