JK: 2 soldiers killed in encounter with terrorists, 4 martyrs including JCO so far

On receiving information about the hiding of three terrorists in Mendhar area of ​​Poonch late on Thursday evening, the security forces had surrounded the area and started the search operation. Defense PRO said that the soldiers fought with the terrorists in which firing took place from both the sides. In the late night operation, a JCO and jawan were martyred in an encounter with terrorists. In this anti-terror action, two Rifleman Vikram Singh and Rifleman Yogmber Singh were seriously injured, who died during treatment on Friday.

It is being told that this encounter is taking place with the same group of terrorists with whom five soldiers were martyred in an action recently. The security forces have been chasing them since then but the terrorists were able to escape by dodging. On getting accurate information on Thursday, the soldiers surrounded the terrorists and started action. Security forces have surrounded the entire area and it is being told that 3 terrorists are hiding in the area.

Terrorist incidents have increased in the Union Territory in the last few days, after which the army has stepped up action against the terrorists. On Wednesday, the security forces had a major success in the Tral area of ​​Awantipora when the Jaish-e-Mohammed’s top commander Sham Sofi was killed in an encounter by the jawans.

IGP Vijay Kumar had told that there was information about the hiding of terrorists in the area of ​​​​the security forces, after which the operation was launched. On seeing the soldiers, the terrorists started firing. In retaliation, Jaish’s top commander was killed by the jawans. Since then, the army had also launched a search operation in the Poonch area.
