J&K News: AK-47 Rifles Stolen, Search Operation Underway for Terrorists in Full Swing

J&K News: According to the Indian Army, three troops were killed during a clash with terrorists in the Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Based on precise intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists in the Halan forests area, the encounter began on Friday night. The police and the army worked together to carry out this operation. The forces came under heavy fire as they closed in on the militants. In the clash, three men from the army lost their lives.

Troops Ramp Up Efforts to Track Down Terrorists

Four AK-47 rifles were stolen from the army men slain in the confrontation by a terrorist. Officials informed PTI that a tight perimeter was kept up all through the night, and that a search operation to find the terrorists—who are thought to number three—was started early on Saturday morning. The group is thought to have recently infiltrated across the Pir Panjal mountain, according to the officials. They said that more troops had been dispatched right away and that the search had been stepped up. As many as ten army soldiers were slain in two separate attacks in the districts of Poonch and Rajouri in April and May. The district’s Kund region has undergone another search after a blast-like noise was heard there, according to the officials. They claimed that when the sound was detected, some Army vehicles were driving through the neighbourhood. According to the officials, a police squad has arrived on the scene and more information is needed.

’15 Corps’ Tweet Reveals Ongoing Operation and Sacrifice of Three Personnel in Kulgam Encounter

Army’s 15 Corps stated in a tweet that the operation in the area is still in progress. “On specific inputs regarding presence of terrorists on higher reaches of Halan in Kulgam, operations launched by Security Forces on 04 Aug 23. In exchange of firing with terrorists, three personnel sustained injuries and later succumbed. Search operations are continuing.” 15 Corps said in a tweet.

Reinforcements Rushed as Kashmir Witnesses Second Wave of Attacks in Formerly Peaceful Region

The search operation has been ramped up, and reinforcements have been hurried to the region. Ten army personnel, including five special commandos, were murdered in two separate attacks or confrontations in the Rajouri and Poonch districts in April and May. This region had been regarded as being devoid of terrorism for almost 20 years.
