Born on February 10, 1962, in Hisar, Haryana, Justice Surya Kant comes from a middle-class family and began his legal career in a small town. He steadily rose through the judiciary to reach the top. He later completed his LLM from Kurukshetra University in 2011 with “first class first” honours, reflecting his strong academic commitment.

Judicial Career and Growth in the High Courts

Before his elevation to the Supreme Court, Justice Kant served in key roles in the High Courts.
