Kargil Vijay Diwas: Two-day celebration to commemorate martyrs’ valour begins today, Defence Minister to attend

Kargil Vijay Diwas: Celebrating India’s remarkable triumph in the 1999 Kargil War with Pakistan, a two-day event begins today. The 24th Kargil Vijay Diwas event will be graced by the presence of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh who will arrive at the venue on Wednesday to commemorate the day. 

Kargil Diwas celebration preparations underway 

The preparation for celebrations of the 24th Kargil Diwas is currently underway. The two-day event is scheduled to begin today evening, commemorating our bravehearts’ martyrdom. The venue has been decked up with flowers and Indian flags rising high ahead of the main event. Aside from the Home Minister, many current and former top officers are expected to attend the event to pay humble tributes. According to media reports, a memorial service will also be held for those who want to lay wreaths to the martyrs. A visit has also been planned to the ‘Hut of Remembrance,’ a museum contracted adjacent to the memorial. The event will also include lightning lamps and a payer service. A traditional pipe band and static band display are also on the cards. Every year, the family members of the martyrs also make it to the point to visit, remembering the valour of their kin.

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated every year on July 26 to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in the Kargil Fourth was fought in 1999. Every year, the Prime Minister of India pays homage to the soldiers at Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate.
