Karnataka: According to reports, condoms, birth control pills, and even cigarettes were discovered by the administration of a few Bengaluru schools. After the administration received complaints regarding the use of mobile phones, they were discovered during the unexpected checks in the school bags.

The report claims that students in classes 8, 9, and 10 had extra cash and cellphones in their bags. The Associated Management of Schools in Karnataka (KAMS) requested that schools in the city regularly search the children's school bags after the incident.
To address the matter, the report stated that the schools had even held parent-teacher meeting. A principal said, “Not just us, but even the parents are shocked to know about such incidents. Even they said that they started observing a change in the behaviour of their children.” People have been sharing various kind of opinions on Twitter:
What I feel missing is an age appropriate sex education system. The current times are different from how we grew. Exposure and access to anything is quite easy. Let us deal with it the right way and educate our children accordingly. That way they know what is right and wrong.

The students were not suspended, though, by the schools. Instead, they made the decision to refer students to counselling sessions to observe a change in behavior.
D Sashi Kumar, the general secretary of KAMS, said, “We found oral contraceptive pills and even alcohol in water bottles in a few schools. Not just this but foul language, acts of bullying were also observed in 5th grade students.”
