The Karnataka government on Saturday further relaxed the Covid-19 restrictions, under which places of worship can now be opened from Sunday. According to an order of the state government, these establishments will have to strictly follow the corona guidelines. Right now, permission has not been given by the government for Jathare, temple festival, procession, congregation. The order has been signed by N Manjunath Prasad, Principal Secretary, Revenue Department of the government, which states, "Places of worship (Temples, Mosques, Churches, Gurudwaras and other religious places) are allowed to open and these establishments will be allowed to open from July 25."
The order of the Karnataka government also states that amusement parks and similar places will also be allowed to open from Saturday and strict adherence to the corona protocol is mandatory in such places as well. At present, the government has not allowed water sports and water-related adventure activities.
The Karnataka government is giving a phased relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions from July 5 this year. The night curfew was extended and swimming pools were allowed to reopen, with the order asking these establishments to strictly follow the COVID-19 protocol.
Also, weddings and family gatherings are not allowed more than 100 people in attendance. The government has allowed cremations and funerals with a maximum of 20 people, while public transport is allowed to operate up to its seating capacity.
